About Us
The Rhode Island Association of School Principals (RIASP):
- Is an umbrella association serving elementary, middle level, and high school leaders from all across Rhode Island
- Is affiliated* with both the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) and the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP)
- Serves more than 450 members, including principals, assistant principals, aspiring principals, retired principals, and other educational leaders
* The affiliation agreement between RIASP and the two national associations prohibits prospective members in Rhode Island from joining either the state or the national association without also joining the other.

Goal: Address the Needs of Elementary Principals
Strategy for Improvement: Assessing and Improving Interaction with Elementary Principals through Professional Development (networking)
Goal: Support Members by Providing an Information Stream
Strategy for Improvement: Expand and Improve information stream to provide information to members to do their work
Goal: Serve Assistant Principals Better
Strategy for Improvement: Maintain current services for professional exchange; increase resources that broaden expertise in areas outside discipline.
