• LGBTQ cultural competency 

• Background on challenges faced by LGBTQ youth, including family rejection and harassment/subjective sense of lack of safety in schools 

• Students' legal rights in school settings, including: 

  -Protections developed by the MA DESE Guidance on Trans* Students 

            -Starting a GLBTSA (GLBT-Straight Alliance) 

• Schools' legal obligations to youth 

• Working with families of LGBTQ youth
