RIASP NOVICE PRINCIPAL BOOTCAMP

New and early career principals are invited to attend a novice principal bootcamp, on Tuesday, August 10th at the RIASP Office from 8:30-3:00pm.

 This Bootcamp will provide novice principals strategies that will help focus and prepare them for beginning the school year by tackling the following tasks: 

• Identify and clarify some of the roles and responsibilities that you are currently facing in your new position
• Identify strategies required to develop a personal leadership calendar to guide daily work of a school administrator.
• Begin to develop a 30-60 day plan to strategically begin the school year. 
• Identifying specific goals to be highlighted in communications to students, faculty, families and the community from day one.
• Create a frame for conversations with staff regarding expected instructional priorities.
• Create an agenda and opening message for the first staff meeting. 
• Develop a plan to get to know faculty, students, and families. 
• Engage in difficult and crucial conversations regarding equity.
