Publications

RIASP members receive a variety of valuable state and national publications that provide the information principals need to be more effective school leaders. A number of NAESP and NASSP publications have been honored with national awards, and all are widely respected for the quality of the content and the "look" of the magazine. The publications of NAESP and NASSP are nicely complemented by the local focus of the RIASP newsletter.

RIASP Publications

The quarterly newsletter of RIASP, The Reporter, provides important and timely information about issues in Rhode Island education as well as up-to-date information about RIASP programming. Through The Reporter, you will also learn about the policies and mandates of the Department of Education, monitor the legislation at the State House, and become informed about the implications "No Child Left Behind." In short, The Reporter provides Rhode Island principals with the stories that they need to be informed and effective.

In addition to receiving The Reporter, RIASP members also receive publications from either NAESP or NASSP, depending upon which national association they elect to join. Those publications are listed below.

NAESP Publications

Principal is a bimonthly journal that deals with critical issues in education.

Communicator is the NAESP newsletter, providing timely information to members.

Report to Parents is an insert in the Communicator that many principals duplicate and pass on to parents.

Here's How, Streamlined Seminars, and Research Roundup are quarterly newsletters that address practical and very common problems that principals face on the job.

Middle Matters is a newsletter designed specifically for middle level school leaders.

Just In Time Resources lists the latest books, services, and other resources that NAESP makes available to its members.

NASSP Publications

Bulletin is a quarterly, peer-reviewed, scholarly journal that provides in-depth consideration of the most important educational issues.

Principal Leadership is a monthly publication that deals with the real issues that confront secondary principals in separate editions for middle school and high school principals.

Legal Memorandum is a quarterly newsletter providing insightful and timely information about issues in educational law.

NewsLeader is a monthly newsletter featuring articles of interest to secondary school leaders.
