The Rhode Island Instructional Leadership Academy (the Academy) was created in 2005 to serve as the professional development arm of the Rhode Island Association of School Principals.
The Academy’s mission is to develop and support Rhode Island school leaders to build strong school learning communities that foster high achievement for all students. The Academy’s vision is to provide professional development experiences for Rhode Island school leaders that engage leaders in communities of practice to improve leaders’ ability to improve student achievement and close achievement gaps within and between schools.
We believe the best way to learn is together and the best way to lead is by example; therefore, programs engage leaders in professional learning communities that model best practices for staff development in schools. The Academy currently runs two such programs for teacher and school leaders, the Principal Residency Network (PRN) and the Learning Leader Network (LLN).
For more information about the PRN or LLN, contact Donna Braun, Director of Leadership Development, dbraun AT riasp DOT org, or (401) 316-8380.
