Rhode Island’s only residency-based administration certification program approved by the Rhode Island Department of Education

The mission of the PRN is to develop a cadre of principals who champion educational change through leadership of innovative schools focused on student achievement and personal growth. We believe that the best learning takes place at the school site and within a small community (cohort) that integrates academic and applied learning.

The PRN pairs qualified aspiring principals with an outstanding mentor principal for an intensive residency. Aspiring principals serve in their schools and are awarded administrative certification upon successful completion of the program.

The PRN has graduated 50 principals over the last nine years. The placement rate for PRN graduates in leadership positions is nearly 95%. PRN leaders have served in over twenty Rhode Island school districts.
