High School/Middle School Network Meeting

Calling all members in high school/middle school ranks. At our last network meeting in January, we heard from staff members at RIDE who presented compelling data on graduation rates and enrollment in higher education.

The topic for the March network meeting is, again, college readiness for Rhode Island students. Our scheduled guest is Dean Libutti, Vice Provost for Enrollment Management at the University of Rhode Island, who will share the perspective of the school that accepts the largest percentage of RI high school graduates. 

We have also invited representatives from the office of academic affairs from Rhode Island College and are awaiting final confirmation.

Questions to be addressed include:

  • What are the trends in academic performance by RI graduates?
  • What are the effects of recent reforms in HS graduation requirements on college readiness?
  • What can we be doing as secondary administrators to improve success in higher education?

Principals are welcome to bring along one representative from your guidance department.
