Leading the Math Momemtum: Empowering Leaders to Transform K-5 Math Instruction

This session helps school leaders understand the critical role they play in shaping a schoolwide culture where math is accessible, joyful, and rigorous. Using Alabama’s recent NAEP improvement as a case study in what happens when leaders invest deeply in math, participants will unpack common roadblocks—such as negative adult math identities—and learn strategies to shift beliefs, strengthen teacher confidence, and engage families. Leaders leave with actionable tools for promoting manipulatives, supporting strong instructional routines, and building a math‑positive environment.
